Kathmandu:
Over 100 dishes from 16 different and diverse countries from all over the world. This is enough to get any gourmet salivating. The fun part is that you don’t have to travel half-way round the world to get a taste of Japanese sushi or some Israeli falafel. These and more will be laid out for you at one venue — Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC), Baneshwore at The Himalayan Times International Food Festival on November 3.
An eagerly anticipated annual event of the Capital, THT Food Fest stands for food and fun in the sun. The newest addition to this epicurean journey is Australia this year. Don’t miss this chance to taste some authentic Aussie dishes like Barbi and ham roast, not to mention a variety of Australian wines.
Take a stroll along as you much on some burger or fries while at the venue and try your hand at the games stalls that is sure to test your skills. Win attractive prizes for your talent (or should be say luck?). Then there’s the all time favourite Bingo, not to mention face painting, Bouncy, joy rides...
Musical accompaniments are also in place - the line-up of musicians as usual is great. From the rockers to the folksy to the pop, the fest has them all. First timers Soulkid are all set to share stage with THT Food Fest veterans and take you to musical heaven.
All this fun is not without a purpose: Rs 1 lakh (in cash and kind) will be donated to two organisations that are working for the less privileged of our society. Here’s urging you to ‘eat for a cause’ too.
Once a cousin said that his favourite dish is anything prepared with love. Those preparing the dishes for THT Food Fest have spared nothing to bring to you the best and have poured their love for good food into the dishes. Come taste the world better with us, and with a lot of love too.
Tickets are priced at Rs 100, and Rs 50 for children below 4-feet in height. These will be available at the venue
