Kathmandu, January 26:

The row in the Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandidevi) today reached a new high following the decision by the party’s faction led by Shyam Sundar Gupta to further consolidate its affiliation in the seven-party alliance and the government.

A marathon-meeting of the party’s Gupta-led faction held in Kathmandu for the last four days concluded today deciding not to detach itself from the coalition-government.

Party senior vice-president Shyam Sundar Gupta represents the Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandidevi) in the government as the Minister of Industry and Supply.

The faction’s decision came as a challenge to the warning by the Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandidevi) faction on Wednesday of quitting the parliament and detaching itself from the seven-party alliance if Gupta was not expelled from the government in a week.

Gupta’s faction has also decided to form several committees to prepare party’s policy, slogans, programmes, and manifesto for the April 10 Constituent Assembly election, party general secretary Devendra Misra said in a statement today.

It has also decided to organise a two-day conference in Bhairahawa from February 15 as part of the preparations for the constituent assembly election.
