Pokhara, Linjhi bond as sister cities

Pokhara, October 21:
The Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City and Linjhi city of Chinese autonomous region of Tibet formally tied the sister-city relationship amidst an official ceremony here today.
Uttam Prasad Nagila, executive officer of the sub-metropolitan city, and Duoji Cinren, vice-commissioner of Linjhi city, signed the documents on behalf of their respective cities.
According to the agreement, the two cities will exchange cooperation in areas of economy, trade, tourism, science and technology, culture, education and sports.
The move has opened the doors for visits between the two cities for exchanging views on matters of mutual interests, the document stated.
On the occasion, Minister for Local Development Ram Chandra Jha said Nepal and China have close and cordial relations since ages.
The sister-city relations between the two towns have further enhanced the ties between the two countries, he said.
