United, Brigade Boys qualify

Kathmandu, December 15:
United Youth Club and Brigade Boys Club (BBC) were promoted to ‘A’ Division after both the teams won their crucial last-round matches of the Martyrs Memorial ‘B’ Division League here at the Dasharath Stadium today.
United defeated Pulchowk Sports Club 3-1 to top Group ‘B’ with eight points while BBC finished second with seven after a 5-1 crushing of Boys Sports Club.
Any of the four teams in action today could have been promoted for the upper Division. Instead, Pulchowk ended up third with six points and Boys Sports fourth with four points. Star Club, who have already played their matches, finished bottom of the table with three points.
Suraj Nagarkoti put Pulchowk ahead early in the first minute but Ajay Poudel led the United fight back with the 10th minute strike. Binay Maharjan made it 2-0 in the 76th and Sabin Nayeba ensured their the victory with the third goal in 84th minute.
In the other match, Akash Chhantyal scored a hat-trick (52, 66, 75) and Bal Bahadur Dingdong (40) and Milan Chandra Rai (62) added one goal each for BBC. Utsav KC had given Boys Sports the 12th minute lead.
Saraswoti Youth Club and Boudha Football Club have already been promoted to ‘A’ Division from Group ‘A’. The round-robin league between the four promoted teams will take place from December 23 to determine the champions.
