KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) today criticised the Maoist-led government’s move to appointment head priests at the Pashupathinath Temple without adhering to due process, rituals and tradition that has hurt the sentiments of devotees. “It is an attack on religious freedom. This is in violation of the spirit of the constitution,” state a press release issued by the NC. The government was also hauled for defying the SC’s stay order. “The state itself ridiculed the law of the country,” it added. The RPP also condemned the “political appointments”.
