Rayamajhi to be new CJ

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Constitutional Council Wednesday recommended Min Bahadur Rayamajhi as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. A meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' decided to appoint second-in-line Rayamajhi as the CJ. The incumbent CJ Kedar Prasad Giri is retiring on May 4 after he completes 65 years of age. According to the interim constitution the CJ must take retirement after completing 65 years of age.
