NTU condemns act KATHMANDU: The Nepal Teachers’ Union (NTU) has condemned the action of the cadres of the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum and Tarai Madhes Democratic Party of smearing soot on the district education officer of Saptari on Wednesday. Issuing a statement, NTU demanded that concerned authorities take strong action against the culprits and prevent such shameful incidents from being repeated. — THT Online

YCL’s protest rally KATHMANDU: The Young Communist League (YCL) rallied in the three districts of the Valley on Thursday to protest the President’s move to reinstate the army chief. According to the YCL, the rallies started at 11:00 from Bhaktapur, Lagankhel of Lalitpur and Basantapur of Kathmandu. “The rallies were organised by the Newar people against the President’s move to reinstate CoAS,” said Chandra Bahadur Thapa ‘Sagar’, YCL Kathmandu Valley in-charge. — THT Online

Two persons injured KATHMANDU: A Jeep met with an accident at Basundhara on Tuesday. The vehicle fell 40 feet off the road after it was rammed from behind by another vehicle. The completely smashed vehicle was impounded by Metropolitan Traffic Police Division. Driver Krishna Ratna Shrestha was critically injured in the incident while passenger Anil BK sustained minor injuries.— THT Online
