Hosts KCTC beat AICRI-India, finally

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre (KCTC) defeated All India Cricket Research Institute (AICRI) by 22 runs in a five- match Twenty20 friendly cricket series here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today. Electing to bat first, KCTC were bowled out for 118 runs in the last ball of their 20-over innings. In reply, AICRI were dismissed for 96 run sin 19.4 overs. KCTC’s total was build around five players Prasanna Shakya (17), Pawan Shrestha (16), Sandeep Yadav (15), Akshaya Shrestha (14) and Raju Khadka (10). Vaibhav Maharana (3-14) and Pralay Dey (3-33) were the pick of the AICRI bowlers. Mohit Dahiya, Sanjay Khan and Sandeep Das also took one wicket apiece. Chasing 119-run target, AICRI were bowled out with two balls to spare. Pralay Dey, who earlier claimed three wickets, top scored with 43-ball 39 while Sanjay Khan chipped in with 26 from 28 balls. Pralay was adjudged the man of the match for his allround performance. Akshaya Shrestha bagged 3-14 from two overs while former national team skipper Raju Khadka (2-13) and Ujjwol Thapa (2-15) grabbed two wickets each for KCTC. Prasanna Shakya also took one wicket. AICRI lead the five-match 3-1.
