KATHMANDU: Though the Supreme Court directed the Office of the Attorney General to hand over the official documents of the SC’s verdict to Vice President Paramananda Jha, directing him to take a fresh oath of office in Nepali, the OAG is yet to forward the papers to the vice president. Attorney General Professor Dr Bharat Bahadur Karki said, “We are yet to receive the copy of the verdict, therefore, we have not been able to forward it to the vice president. We will forward it to the vice president immediately after we receive it.” The verdict had directed Jha to either quit his job or take a fresh oath in Nepali. Meanwhile, Vice President Jha, after obtaining a copy of the verdict from journalists, discussed the issue with his close aides and forwarded it to the Madhes-based political parties seeking their advice on the issue. Attorney General Karki had met PM Nepal yesterday and urged him for the implementation of the verdict. “There is no other option but to obey the verdict of the apex court,” Karki added.
