MADRID: Karim Benzema scored two goals as Real Madrid beat Rosenborg 4-0 on Monday in their last warmup match before the start of the Spanish season. Benzema opened the scoring early in the 12th minute before running on to Cristiano Ronaldo’s deft pass in the 27th minute and firing a shot off the under side of the bar and past goalkeeper Rune Jarstein at his near post. Lassana Diarra and veteran captain Raul Gonzalez also scored as the Spanish powerhouse completed their preseason by winning the Santiago Bernabeu trophy. They open their season on Saturday in the Spanish capital against Deportivo La Coruna.
