Bajaj Maha Exchange KATHMANDU: The sixth Bajaj Maha Exchange Mela held at Bhrikuti Mandap ended successfully on Wednesday. The six-day mela saw 1175 Bajaj bikes being sold. The new Discover and Pulsar 220 grabbed a lot of attention and sold like hot cakes. Some 25 companies related to sales, inquiry and exchange of motorcycles participated in the mela. — HNS Academician’s visit KATHMANDU: Dr Jay Nathan — a full professor of Management at St John’s University visited the Republic of Nepal from August 20 to August 25 under the sponsorship of Fulbright Alumni Association of Nepal (FAAN). Dr Nathan said he was pleased to have the opportunity to engage in discussions about Nepali culture, economic development, globalization and business education. He strongly believes with proper management Nepal can improve her public and private enterprises. Some of the institutions that benefited from Dr Nathan’s visit are Management Association of Nepal (MAN), Central Department of Economics (TU), Fulbright Alumni Association of Nepal (FAAN) and Golden Gate College, Kathmandu. — HNS Farmer strikes it rich BAGLUNG: A farmer has earned Rs 2.7 million in a year from commercial vegetable production with his own efforts in Baglung. Rudra Bahadur Thapa of Ratnechaur-9 — who started vegetable farming seven years ago — succeeded earning such a huge amount of money after selling green vegetables and fruits produced in his own farmlands. Thapa said he started vegetable farming after he got fed up of overseas employment. Thapa has built a three-storey house in Baglung Municipality and bought an additional five ropanis of land in his own village. He has become an inspiration for other farmers in his vicinity. — RSS
