Foreign Ministry urges Nepalis to remain indoors, avoid travel to Iran until situation normalises
KATHMANDU, JANUARY 13
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has issued a travel advisory urging Nepali citizens currently living and working in Iran to remain cautious amid the country's evolving security situation.
In the advisory issued on January 13, the ministry advised Nepalis in Iran to follow instructions issued by Iranian authorities, stay indoors, remain alert and exercise maximum caution.
The ministry has also strongly urged Nepali citizens planning to travel to Iran to postpone their travel plans until the situation in the country returns to normal.
MoFA has requested Nepali nationals to remain in regular contact with concerned authorities and seek assistance in case of emergency. For urgent support, citizens have been advised to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu or the Embassy of Nepal in Doha, which looks after Nepal's consular affairs related to Iran.
