KATHMANDU: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday sought clarification from Home Secretary Govinda Kusum and Inspector General of Nepal Police Ramesh Chand Thakuri about their alleged involvement in the financial irregularities in the parka deal. The Nepal Police had purchased some 57,000 parka jackets for its personnel.

In reply, Thakuri said there were no irregularities in the deal and that the deal was given to the bidder who could deliver the required quality. Thakuri also informed that only two bidders were chosen as they met the requirements and the deal was given to the lower of the two bidders.

CIAA had summoned Thakuri on Monday and sought clarification from him regarding the deal.
