LONDON: Lady Gaga turned the MTV Video Music Awards stage in New York into a bloody mess on Sunday night with a gory rendition of her Paparazzi hit. After re-enacting the song's video by wielding a crutch onstage as a wheelchair-bound dancer writhed in pain, the former performance artist sat down at a white piano, and when she stood up again, fake blood started pouring down her bare mid-riff. Dancers gathered around her, pretending to mourn her death. The singer's apparently lifeless and blood-spattered body was then pulled up from the stage on a winch as the curtain came down on the stage. Gaga then returned to her seat in the audience at Radio City Music Hall, wearing a red lace mini-dress, which stretched over her face. She only removed the lace from her face when she dedicated her Best New Artist award to her fans, God and 'the gays'.
