KAPILVASTU: Treating the Comprehensive Peace Agreement with contemptuous disregard, the UCPN-Maoist-affiliated All Nepal Peasants' Organisation-Revolutionary, has started seizing land and houses in Kapilvastu district. The Organisation has recently seized 50 bighas of land in Karma of Banskhor VDC-5. Chhabilal Bhusal, chairman of the Organisation, issuing a press release today, said that the party had also seized the land belonging to a Madarasa in Abhiraba VDC-3. Bhusal said the land was seized after the party discovered that locals Abdul Salam Musalman, Jiyau Rahaman and Hitij Rahaman had illicitly transfered the land in their names. The Organisation said it would not return the land until the rightful claimants gets the land. District vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist, Ramlautan Tiwari said his organisation had seized the land following a substantial evidence. Meanwhile, disputes over transfer of land from individuals to Madarasas has ensued for quite sometime now. Madarasas often receive contributions from Muslim countries. Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Ghimire, however, said he was unaware of the latest capture of land in the district.
