The weather across Nepal is currently influenced by a partial high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere and a low-pressure system in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
At present, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province, as well as in the hilly regions of Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province. Other parts of the country are experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
The Division said similar weather conditions are expected this afternoon, with generally cloudy skies in the hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim, while the remaining areas will remain partly cloudy.
There is a chance of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions. Some areas in the Terai are also likely to experience morning fog, the Division added.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere.
The Division also noted the possibility of light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in isolated places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while haze is likely in parts of the Terai during the night.
