BR-V all set to launch in Nepal

Syakar Trading Company (STC), authorised distributor of Honda is all set to launch its much awaited model — the BR-V by the end of July in the Nepali market. The all new compact SUV sets a high standard in care and safety with its exclusive ACE body structure. To give an SUV stance to the four-wheeler, the rectangular headlamps are decked up high with the grille. The front bumper gets a silver accent bash plate on its lower side and also houses fog-lamps and a mesh grille.

“This new SUV is a multi-functional car, with special attention to safety such as advanced Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and pre-tensioner seat belts with load limiter. We are looking forward to increasing our market share and strengthening our brand name with this model,” said Sharad Dhungel, Division Manager of Honda Cars, adding that after the launch of BR-V the company expects to sell 200 units of car this year.

Powered by a 1497 cc petrol engine, the compact SUV delivers a maximum power of 119 ps at 6600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4600 rpm. Mated to six forward and one reverse manual transmission gears and CVT automatic transmission, the SUV offers a best in the class mileage of 15.4 kmpl. The SUV has a fuel tank capacity of 42 litres and offers an impressive ground clearance of 210 mm.

When it comes to the interiors, BR-V is enclosed with leather wrapped steering wheel, leather gear shift knob, leather pad on door armrest, sporty 3D speedometer with multi information display, average fuel consumption display, cruising range display, outside temperature display, metre illumination control, silver garnish on front AC vents and piano black finish on centre console.

The seven-seater SUV is equipped with features like push start with smart entry button, paddle shift, advanced 2DIN integrated audio (AM/FM, MP3, USB and Aux-in), bluetooth connectivity, hands-free telephone, steering mounted audio controls, digital AC controls, FR and RR speakers, rear AC vents, auto door lock by speed, seat pack pocket, eco lamp, day night IRVM, head light off reminder and ignition key reminder that ensure comfort.

The SUV comes equipped with McPherson strut coil spring front suspension and a torsion beam coil spring rear suspension. The ABS and EBD systems, front dual SRS airbags, front fog lamps, security alarm, impact sensing auto door unlock, rear defogger, front seat belt pre-tensioner with load limiter, high mount stop lamp and driver seat belt reminder are some of the features that enhance the safety measure of the vehicle. In Nepal, BR-V will be available in five variants — EMT, SMT, VMT, VXMT, VCVT at a price of tentatively around Rs four million.
