Nissan Terrano hits the roads

Pioneer Moto Corp Pvt Ltd, the sole authorised distributor of Nissan for Nepal has launched the new Nissan Terrano at an event held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza on January 14. Sharing his excitement, Sandeep Sharda, Director at Sharda Group said, “The Nissan Terrano enhances conveniences for its occupants and highlights its muscular road profile to setting it apart from other vehicles in its segment.”
A 1.6-ltr petrol engine that makes 148Nm at 3750-rpm, while mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox powers the new Nissan Terrano. A 1.5-ltr diesel engine comes in two states of tunes: XE/XL (O) XV and Premium/XV Premium Auto drive. The XE/XL (O) is powered by 200Nm at 1750-rpm and Premium/XV is powered 245Nm with 1750-rpm. The transmission options of XE/XL(O) XV include conventional 5-speed manual transmission and the Premium/Xv includes conventional 6-speed manual transmission. With ground clearance of 205-mm high and low turning radius of 5.2-m with fuel efficiency of 10.64-km per litre, the new Terranto might be suitable on the Nepali roads.
The new Nissan Terrano boasts various new features — the new 7.0 touch-screen navigation and voice recognition, curvaceous electronically retractable ORVMs with turn indicators, a hill climb assist, and a cruise control. It also comes with one-touch lane change indicator, which the company says, will make it much easier for the driver to indicate a lane change. The steering wheel comes with a new design and has a mild re-design in order to accommodate the controls for audio and telephony. The car also has a new dual-tone dashboard, door pads, and seats.
The interior has been spruced up with a nice black and brown dual-tone colour scheme along with new fabric upholstery, depending on the variants. It has also introduced an armrest for the driver which the earlier model missed. The buttons for power windows are now illuminated and the wing mirrors have integrated indicators.
To ensure comfort and safety, the SUV has automatic emergency braking system which comes with a strong Monocoque Body Construction and safety technologies that puts safety at the forefront. It has electronic stability programme (ESP) that detects which direction you want to turn in and controls the brake accordingly. Another
important safety feature is its emergency brake warning light that informs you if there is something wrong with the e-brake of the car and an anti-pinch driver side window. New Nissan Terrano is priced at Rs 42, 99,000 for XLP and Rs 53, 99,000 for XVD Pre 110PS variant.
