Kathmandu, April 16
The 26th Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT-2023) held in Istanbul, Turkey from April 12 to 15 has concluded successfully.
The Nepal Tourism Board and Nepali tourism companies had also participated in the event to promote the country's tourism.
Organised by Hyve Fuarcilik AS with the support of ICA Group, the EMITT-2023 was held in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Turkish Airlines and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
The participants have remarked that the event opened a business platform allowing new business and cooperation opportunities for Turkey as well as the global travel sector.
The event brought together tourism buyers, pavilions, holiday destinations, summer, winter tourism and outdoor tourist destinations, hotels and tourism centres, tour operators, travel agencies, among others, from 33 countries.
Gobinda Oli, manager at NTB, informed that the participants had the opportunity to market their travel packages to potential Turkish travellers and negotiate business deals with Turkish tour operators.
Stating that Turkey has a large economy and there is a direct flight network from Istanbul to Kathmandu by Turkish Airlines, he remarked that Turkey has great outbound tourism potential for the Nepali tourism industry and added that the event will surely be beneficial for the country.
