Aberlour debuts in Nepali market

Kathmandu, January 18

Pernod Ricard has launched Aberlour — one of its most awarded single malt whisky — in the country.

The launch entails introduction of entire range of Aberlour — 12 Years Old, 16 Years Old and 18 Years Old — in leading liquor outlets in Nepal, as per a statement issued today. The whiskies of Aberlour are long regarded by enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike as one of the finest single malts being produced today.

“With the rising appetite for crafted single malts whiskies, we feel it’s the right time to bring Aberlour to the Nepali audience,” the statement quotes Kartik Mohindra, head of international brands at Pernod Ricard India, as saying. “We are confident that this will resonate with the discerning malt connoisseurs who are looking for enriching, authentic and unique whisky experiences.”

Aberlour 12 Years Old is a smooth, fruity dram with citrus character complemented by the use of ex-sherry casks. The 16 Years Old, double matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, is slightly creamier and richer, with a more velvety mouth-feel. The 18 Years Old is the finest of the three — gentle, soft and fruity on the nose, and wonderfully rich and spicy on the palate, this is a dram that should be savoured slowly without ice or water.

Aberlour is part of Chivas Brothers, the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard. Whisky lovers in Nepal can look out for all three expressions at leading liquor outlets in the country at a price range of Rs 5,400 to Rs 16,000.
