Action against gas depots

The market monitoring team led by Min Prasad Gyawali, chief industry officer at the Lalitpur cottage and small scale industries office, has initiated action against various defaulting gas depots and restaurants.

The team has initiated action against Ratna Gas Service Centre at Bagdol for selling Baba, Manoj, Koshi and Himal brand gas cylinders in contravention of the licence and the Dhobighat-based Ruby Food Stores for selling gas without acquiring sales licence.

Similarly, various cabin restaurants at Satdobato have been directed to operate only restaurants as these have been found to be operating cabin restaurants by constructing small cabins with a seating capacity for only two or three persons and as social aberrations are likely from such places.

As, these restaurants were found to be selling cold drinks at a price thrice as much as the fixed price, they have been ordered to sell cold drinks only at fixed rates.

The team also arrested Ram Prasad Koirala, the owner of a hardware store at Sanepa, for selling cement for various construction purposes at sub-standard weight and filed a case against him at the district court.

Similarly, it has sealed the Shaha Hardware Store, Mahalaxmis than and initiated action against the owner for flouting the licence.
