ADB chief to visit S Asia

New Delhi, August 28:

Haruhiko Kuroda, president of the Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB), will visit India and Pakistan next week on his first trip to South Asia since taking charge. During his visit to India from August 31 to September 1, Kuroda will exchange views with government officials on the country’s economic growth and its emerging development priorities, an official press release stated today. Reaffirming the multilateral body’s long-term commitment to the

economic development of the region, the discussions will focus on ADB assistance in the coming years. Kuroda will also hold discussions with the private sector.
