Air Sahara to resume flights

Kathmandu, February 21:
Air Sahara, an Indian airlines company, will be resuming its flights to Kathmandu from March 15. The airlines had suspended its flights to Kathmandu from February 8 due to the company’s internal problems.
Air Sahara had started its Nepal operation on September 15 last year, but had been forced to suspend its flights to Kathmandu.
Talking to The Himalayan Times, Joy Dewan, managing director, general sales agent (GSA), Air Sahara said that due to the constraint of crew and aircrafts, Air Sahara was compelled to stop its regular flights to Kathmandu. Recently Air Sahara had extended its services to other parts of the region, which has hampered its operations on Kathmandu–Delhi route as well.
Clarifying on the reasons for stoppage of flights to Kathmandu, Dewan said security concerns are not the reason for the temporary suspension, as other airlines continue to fly to Kathmandu. He also stated that the suspension is not due to the changed political scenario in the country.
“Though January and February is off season, Air Sahara can not stop its service due to lesser number of passengers. Air Sahara is a commercial airlines and has a good reputation among its customers. If Air Sahara stops its operations in such condition, it will lose its goodwill,” said Dewan.
Air Sahara was flying daily on the Delhi-Ktm-Delhi sector.
