KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2

Ather Energy has introduced a simplified financing scheme in Nepal, allowing customers to purchase its electric scooters using only a valid ID card, with monthly instalments starting from Rs 6,058.

The initiative removes the requirement for additional financial documents, a move the company says is aimed at reducing barriers to electric vehicle ownership and accelerating the adoption of clean mobility.

Ather currently operates eight experience centres across major cities, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Butwal, along with a nationwide service network and more than 27 fast-charging points on urban routes and highways.

Known for features such as touchscreen dashboards, over-the-air software updates and fast-charging capability, Ather has positioned itself as a premium electric two-wheeler brand in Nepal.

The company said the new financing option complements its existing charging and service infrastructure, making electric scooters more accessible to a broader segment of riders.
