Bajaj exchange mela off to flying start

Kathmandu, December 14:

The five-day long Bajaj motorcycle exchange mela, being organised by the Hansraj Hulaschand & Company Pvt Ltd, at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu has had a roaring start here today.

The company claims to have exchanged about 100 motorbikes on the opening day itself, despite an inclement weather as. “Going by the response of the first day, we feel that we are likely to exceed our target of exchanging 600 bikes,” said Raju Chettri, general manager, Hansraj Hulaschand & Company Pvt Ltd.

The first day of any programme usually evokes sluggish response, business picks up only on the subsequent days, he pointed out.

The programme enables motorbike owners to exchange their old motocycles with brand new ones choosing from a range of six Bajaj bikes that are on display at the venue. The company claims to have roped in 19 biggest exchange companies of Nepal.

“The idea is to allow owners to get their bikes valued in order to allow bike owners the best possible price” said Chettri.

There are 10 finance companies at the venue to provide instant finance to customers, while Sagarmatha Insurance Co is providing insurance coverage for the vehicles.

Another big attraction in the programme is the package of accessories that come with every exchange. Worth Rs 2,500, it includes bike equipment like helmets, bike covers, wheel locks, helmet locks, seat nets, grip covers and stickers to protect the fuel tank.
