BANKE: Banke district has witnessed a surge in the number of industries and investment this fiscal year (FY).

According to the Cottage and Small Industry Office (CSIO) in Banke, there is 17 per cent rise in the establishment of new industries in the last FY 2014/15 as compared to the previous year.

Likewise, a total of around Rs 981 million has been invested in industries this FY, which is 53 per cent higher than that of the last FY, the CSIO said.

It added that the figure stood at around Rs 461 million last FY.

Similarly, the CSIO said that the total 713 industries have been set up in the district this FY against a total of 544 industries last FY.
