Four-star Hotel Siraichuli in Chitwan will now be managed by US-based hotel brand Best Western Hotels & Resorts following an agreement between Hotel Siraichuli Ltd and the international hotel chain.

Hotel chairman Chudamani Khanal and Best Western president for China, Mongolia and Nepal Harry Dong signed the agreement on Wednesday.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Nepal Wilbert Uaughn said it was encouraging that a renowned American brand would manage the hotel, which is located near Chitwan National Park.

Khanal said the hotel would gain access to Best Western's global booking system and international loyalty programme and be connected to the brand's network across more than 100 countries.

Built with an investment of around Rs 1 billion, the hotel has 71 rooms, including deluxe, executive, mini-suite and suite categories, as well as modern conference and event halls. The hotel currently has an occupancy rate of more than 50 per cent.

The property will now operate as Best Western Siraichuli Hotel, replacing its previous name, Hotel Siraihuli.

Harry Dong said Best Western was pleased to be associated with one of Nepal's leading tourism destinations and would promote the hotel globally to help increase its business.

Hotel Managing Director Bishnu Kunwar said the agreement would have a positive impact on tourism in Chitwan.

Best Western Nepal representative Aryan Bastola said the brand currently manages two hotels in Nepal, near Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu and in Godawari.
