Telecom taskforce
KATHMANDU: A seven-member taskforce has been constituted under Madan Kaji Shakya, deputy managing director of Nepal Telecom as the convenor, for carrying out immediate reconstruction of damaged telecom infrastructures. The taskforce has been given the responsibility of making arrangements for equipment and means required for the reconstruction of the damaged telecom infrastructures throughout the country with immediate effect, NT has stated. A tentative timetable would be prepared and the general public would be informed of the same after studying the feasibility of particular services that could be operated after carrying out the reconstruction works within the specified period. —RSS
Khudi power project
KHUDI: The construction work on the four megawatt Khudi hydropower project is nearing completion. Launched as a private initiative at the cost of Rs 5.6 million, the project is expected to be completed by the end of this month. The project that was launched two years ago involves 60 per cent of investment of the Butwal Power Company, 25 per cent of Canada and 15 per cent of Lamjung Electricity Development Company. Electricity generated from the project will be connected to 133 KV national transmission grid via the sub-station, which will be constructed in Besi Sahar. - RSS
