BoK’s new ATM

KATHMANDU: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) on Tuesday installed its new ATM terminal at ATM Lounge, Kumaripati. BOK now has a total of 19 ATM terminals. — HNS


Ace awarded

KATHMANDU: Ace Development Bank was awarded the Best Presented Accounts Award 2008 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Nepal. Ace received the award thrice before and was runner-up last year. The prize is based on recognition of maintaining standards in financial indices, disclosure and report presentation. — HNS


ALIC policies

KATHMANDU: Asian Life Insurance Company (ALIC) has claimed that it has collected 1,36,835 policies worth Rs 435 million in fiscal year 2008-09. “We are the largest insurance company in terms of transaction,” ALIC claimed. The company that started operations from April 3, 2008 has 17 branches and 12 contact offices throughout the country. — HNS


FHAN promo

KATHMANDU: Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) is organising training from July 21 to 30 to enhance the design of Nepali handmade paper. The training is organised in coordination with Cottage and Small Industry Development Fund and Nepal Handmade Paper Association. Designers Tara Adhikari, Ninu Pradhan, Saradha Shah and graphic designer Radheshyam Mulmi will conduct the training. — HNS


SMS banking

KATHMANDU: Manjushree Financial Institutions starts SMS banking service from Monday. Through this service depositors can get the latest information — last four transactions and remaining amount — of their account. The financial institution collected Rs 40 million till July 15 from ‘Balloon Savings’ scheme introduced last month. — HNS


Expansion demand

BUTWAL: Entrepreneurs and industrialists have demanded expansion of the industrial area in Butwal saying that the land covered by the area is insufficient to set up new industries. The area is spread over 434 ropanies of land where 56 industries are in operation, six are under construction and five are closed. Industrialists are forced to buy costly land. — RSS Cusk
