Revenue collection up

BUTWAL: The Internal Revenue Office, Bhairahawa has raised a revenue of Rs 255.161 million in the six months of the current fiscal year. It is an 8.47 per cent increment in comparison to the last fiscal year. Last year, it had collected Rs 180.286 million. Ganesh Nepal, a tax officer said the largest amount of revenue was collected from the private sector that stood at Rs 78.9 million followed by house rent tax and interest tax. — RSS

Hydel training begins

KATHMANDU: A 21-day long training on micro hydropower organised by the Mek Consultancy Pvt Ltd with the assistance of Barwen Education Foundation, America kicked off here. The training was aimed at producing manpower needed for micro hydropower projects that are scheduled to be launched in the remote mountainous parts of the country. Inaugurating the training, coordinator Shobhita Parajuli said that both the theoretical and practical knowledge will be imparted regarding proper maintenance of the micro hydropower as well as developing good mechanism for the micro hydropower. — RSS

Coke to raise output

JAKARTA: Coca Cola Indonesia plans to raise its production capacity by up to 20 per cent this year to keep up with rising demand for beverages in the country. “We have big plans for Indonesia,” managing director Robert Foye said. He said the company will add new production lines to boost output by an average of 10 to 20 percent. Some lines for products such as canned drinks may see a 50 per cent or more increase. — AFP
