NRL begins service

KATHMANDU:

with a view of providing high quality pathological lab testing services, National Reference Laboratory (NRL) has been set up at New Baneswar, Kathmandu. Lokman Singh Karki, chief secretary today inaugurated the laboratory at a function. Sushil Thapa, managing director of NRL, informed that the lab has facilities to carry out 265 different types of lab tests. Special types of health lab testing at NRL are hepatitis, HIV, HCV, thyroid test, fertility hormone, test fertility profile, ROECH tumor marker, body fluid and CSF screening. Dr Sudha Sharma, president of Nepal Medical Association pointed out the need of public-private partnership in providing quality and efficient health services. —HNS

W-Link’s remittance

KATHMANDU:

World Link Communications Pvt Ltd, the largest private Internet service provided, has started remittance service through its new company, World Link Money Transfer. The company has started its services following approval from Nepal Rastra Bank and the company plans to integrate Internet and banking service to provide fast, safe and reliable money transfer service to its customers, states a press release issued today. The company will provide the remittance transfer service through its branch and liaison offices throughout the country. — HNS
