CSCL enters sixth year
KATHMANDU:
Civil Savings & Cooperative Ltd (CSCL) held its fifth AGM on Saturday. During the five years of its operation, CSCL has been able to complete ‘Civil Homes’ housing project phase I & II, at Bhainsepati and Tinthana respectively. I R Tamang, executive chairman of CSCL said the company has also established Civil Merchant Bittiya Sanstha Ltd and started construction of Civil Complex. The company also plans to set up Civil Business Complex at Sundhara in near future. — HNS
Wai Wai’s new scheme
KATHMANDU:
CG Foods (Nepal) Pvt Ltd has introduced ‘WaiWai Aajko Arjun Ko?’ in its flagship noodle product Wai Wai. In this scheme, a consumer gets a chance to be a modern day Arjun, when one gets any ‘Wai Wai Aajko Arjun Ko?’ coupon of Rs 500, Rs 5,000 and Rs 100,000 value. The customer will get a chance to throw a dart at the board having different cash zones printed on it, starting from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. Lloyds TSB eyes India
BRISTOL:
British bank major Lloyds TSB has announced the transfer of 41 jobs from Bristol to India. And union leaders believe the move could herald outsourcing of thousands of jobs. The affected staff members work in the company’s accounts and staff expenses department in Bedminster. The jobs will be transferred to an external company called Xansa, which will transfer them to India. — HNS
IMF praises Brazil
BRASILIA:
The IMF applauded Brazil’s low inflation and strong exports on Friday but said the country now should reduce sky-high interest rates. IMF inspectors praised Brazil’s economic performance following their three-day inspection. “The country’s economy is doing very well,” said Charles Collyns, head of the delegation. — AP
