NICCI hails pact

KATHMANDU: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) has welcomed Nepal-India agreement for upgrading four border check posts. Issuing a press statement, NICCI has also thanked the government of India for its nod to provide financial and technical support of more than five billion rupees for the project. The three-year project will construct various link roads, administrative buildings, laboratories, bank and tourist information centres at four major border points along the Indo-Nepal border. — HNS

917 licenses issued

BIRATNAGAR: Nepal Bureau of Standard and Metrology, Biratnagar has distributed 917 quality and standard licenses for different trade and businesses during the fiscal year 2004-05. Likewise, the office took action of different sorts against 885 businessmen and business firms in total for their involvement in illegal trade activities. The office collected revenue of Rs 842,000 in total during the fiscal year. — RSS
