Revenue collection up
BUTWAL: Inland Revenue Office, Bhairahawa has collected Rs 494.6 million revenue during 2004-05, exceeding the target of Rs 419.1 million. According to chief tax officer, Ganesh Nepal, the private sector generated Rs 138.5 million while it collected about Rs 182.5 million from income tax, including Rs 11.4 million from house rents. Rs101.3 million were collected from excise duties. - RSS
Vocational training
MYAGDI: A total of 77 persons have benefited from training of different sorts organised by Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee, Myagdi in the fiscal year 2004-05. The committee had organised training on tailoring, knitting, house wiring, workshop management and bee keeping for different people, including members of displaced families due to the Maoist conflict. - RSS
Delhi emerges as rich
New Delhi: Delhi has the second highest per capita income in the country after Chandigarh. According to figures for 2004-05 from the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO), an average Delhi resident earns Rs 51,664 ($1,190) per annum, way above even the industrialised states and the all-India figure of Rs 20,989. According to officials, Delhi sustains this income level due to a flourishing tertiary sector. - HNS
