Union’s decision

KATHMANDU: Nepal Scrap Union has urged scrap entrepreneurs to take membership card nationwide and get organized. The union has decided to make it compulsory for its members to take permanent account number (PAN) and certificate of value added tax (VAT) while registering at the Inland Revenue Office. The union has demanded the government provide PAN and VAT certificate to scrap entrepreneurs. Union president Pancha Tamang said they have requested the concerned offices to ban sale and purchase of scrap without the recommendation of the union. — RSS

Nepal bags medals

KATHMANDU: Nepal bagged four medals in the 24th Asian International Postage Stamps Exhibition Philakorea-2009 that concluded in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, recently. According to Nepal Philatelic Society, Nepal won three silver medals and a bronze medal in the expo. Hira Ratna Tuladhar’s collection ‘Nepal Revenue’, Ujjwal Kapur Shrestha’s ‘Shree Pashupati Issues of Nepal’ and Prajjwal Shrestha’s ‘Nepal Postal Stationery’ won silver medals while Rameshwar Man Karmacharya got the bronze medal for his collection of postage stamps related to Gautam Buddha. — RSS
