Kathmandu: The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has agreed to provide financial assistance of approximately Rs 828.4 million to Nepal to implement leasehold forestry and livestock programme. Out of the total financial assistance Rs 741.3 million is loan and Rs 87.1 million is grant. — RSS

Vaidya in ILO body

KATHMANDU: Suraj Vaidya, third vice-president of FNCCI, has been elected to the post of alternative member of governing body of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for three-year term. Likewise, Laxman Basnet, president of Nepal Trade Union Congress has been elected as deputy member of the ILO governing body. — HNS

QA to fly to Greece

KATHMANDU: Qatar Airways (QA) has announced the schedules for its new flights to Athens. The Greek capital will be served non-stop six-times-a-week from Qatar Airways’ operational hub of Doha. — HNS

MS fined $9 million

SEATTLE: A federal jury in California has slapped MS Corp with a $9 million judgment in a patent infringement lawsuit filed by a Guatemalan inventor. Carlos Amado sued the software maker in March 2003. — AP
