FM attends ADB meet

KATHMANDU: Finance minister Madhukar SJB Rana highlighted the problem of internally displaced people that Nepal is facing and the need for international support to manage them, including rehabilitation of infrastructure. Rana was addressing the 38th annual meeting of ADB board of governors in Istanbul on Thursday. At the occasion, Rana also emphasised on the 21-point economic and government reform programme of the government. — RSS

TAAN workshop held

KATHMANDU: In a bid to impart basic skills and knowledge about business, Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN), in association with BizMantra, Toolkit Project, Nepal organised a promotional workshop for young entrepreneurs today in the capital. Goods confiscated

SARLAHI: About 40 sacks of substandard urea fertiliser were seized by the police on Thursday at Sarlahi border. The confiscated fertiliser has been valued at Rs 25,000 and have been handed over to the Sarlahi custom office. The security forces have been mobilised massively in border areas after smuggling of goods increased owing to the open border, said Bal Krishna Thapa, deputy superintendent of police — RSS

Hailstorm hurts crops

SANKHUWASAWA: Hailstorm observed in northern Sankhuwasava recently destroyed potatoes worth million of rupees and killed about two dozens domestic quadrupeds. The hailstorm occurred for about four hours and destroyed the crops. — RSS
