Wheat, mustard output up

BHOJPUR: Production of wheat and mustard is expected to increase in Bhojpur district. Farmers in Bhojpur district have planted wheat on 25,000 hectors of land and mustard on 10,500 hectors. According to district agriculture development office, production of wheat is expected to be 2.10 metric tonnes per hector and mustard two metric tonnes per hectare. — RSS

Shady goods seized

KATHMANDU: Revenue custom post of armed police has recovered goods worth about Rs 139,000 from a godown of a businessman in Birgunj. Thegoods were without labels and other details. The police have handed over the goods to revenue custom office in Birgunj. The revenue custom post of armed police forces has also seized goods worth about Rs 42,000, being smuggled through Burmeli Tole in Jhapa. — RSS

Peltric sets get popular

BHOJPUR: People in Bhojpur district are attracted to peltric sets as an alternative source of energy. The government is providing 30 per cent grant apart from other assistance by non-government organisations for setting up peltric sets in rural areas. There are more than 100 peltric sets installed in Bhojpur district at present and thousands of people are benefiting from it. — RSS

Road links Khalte VDC

DHADING: Residents of Khalte VDC, Dhading are happy to see a vehicle. Situated at about 30 km from the district headquarters, the Khalte VDC now has been linked by a motorway — constructed recently at a cost of about four million rupees. India, Mercosur sign FTA

NEW DELHI: India will Saturday sign a free trade deal with the South American Mercosur bloc, Indian Trade Minister Kamal Nath said on Friday. The agreement will be signed on the sidelines of a two-day G-20 (group of 20) ministerial conference being attended by South American trade ministers in the Indian capital. — HNS
