Workshop on income tax
KATHMANDU: Oxford Management Support Academics organised a one-day workshop here to discuss the wide issues of Nepalis tax system. The workshop focussed on income tax, tax deduction at source and penalty and interest. The main objective of the programme was to make the tax assessment transparent. — HNS
Royal treat to Royal beer
KATHMANDU: Royal Challenge, a new beer has entered Kathmandu valley on a horse-drawn carriage. It is the first time in the history of Nepali advertisement that a new product is advertised around the city in a horse-drawn carriage. Royal Challenge is brought to Nepal by Sun Gold Pvt Ltd in association with SAB Miller, the world renowned brewery company. — HNS
BCSCCS holds third AGM
BHAKTAPUR: Kailash Bhakta Pradhanang, central president of Nepal Savings and Credit Cooperative Society inaugurated the third annual general meeting of Bhaktapur Cottage Saving and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd (BCSCCS). Speaking at the programme, Pradhanang stressed the need for promoting the cooperative societies in the form of a guardian for the economic development and poverty alleviation. — RSS
Paddy plantation hit
KATHMANDU: Lack of rain this month has affected the paddy plantation. The month has been largely dry so far. This irregularity in the monsoon rains has hit the paddy plantation which largely depends on rainfall. Farmers have not been able to carry out paddy plantation in many parts of the country and even the tender paddy seedlings already transplanted in some places have wilted away due to inadequate rain. — RSS
STC has enough supply
SURKHET: Nepal Salt Trading Corporation (STC) sub-branch office, Surkhet has said that the Karnali zone will not have to face shortage of salt and kerosene this year. This assessment of the NSTC sub-branch office is based on an appraisal of the supply situation of the commodities in all the five districts of the Karnali zone. — RSS
Property tax imposition
UDAYAPUR: Triyuga municipality, the only municipality in Udayapur district, is going to impose integrated property tax from mid August. The tax will be categorised into seven different groups and implemented in all the 17 wards. The municipality board has decided to impose the tax as per the Local Self-governance Act- 2055 BS. — RSS
