TAAN M-bike competition
KATHMANDU: Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) is organising first Thuraya-TAAN Mountain Bike Championship on June 5 to commemorate the World Environment Day. The 17-km mountain bike race will begin from Bhaktapur Durbar Square and ends at TAAN forest at Kashibhanjyang in Kavre district. The route of the event goes through Dattatreya, Bhaktapur east gate, Sanga height and Nala Bazaar to the final point at TAAN forest. — HNS
Mayos to award Rs 0.25m
KATHMANDU: Himalayan Snax and Noodles Pvt Ltd is organising a prize distribution ceremony and Media meet on Tuesday. The Mayos Millionaire Offer has gain popularity among the consumers and so far 80 persons have received cash prize of Rs 10,000 each and seven Rs 0.1 million each, states a press release. The first winner of Rs 0.25 million will be awarded in the cereceremony. The maximum amount of the Mayos millionaire offer is Rs 1.0 million and so far no one has won it. — HNS
PSI to launch products
KATHMANDU; Population Service International (PSI) is set to launch three new products — OK Range, Postinor 2 and Sure. OK is a range of family planning products, whereas Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive and Sure is the home pregnancy test kit. The launching programme organised will be organised in collaboration with Family Health Division (FHD) and is supported by United States Agency for International Development. OK products and Postinor 2 are exclusive product range of Sun Quality Health franchise network. — HNS
Information week ends
PARBAT: The week-long information week held with a view to promoting awareness of local people about the modern communication and information technologies and importance of information in rural areas concluded here on Sunday. Various awareness programmes have been launched on the occasion jointly by information centres of Katuwachaupari and Dhairing VDCs of Parbat. Quiz contests, ward gatherings, web-site exhibition, free services related to electric mailing and street dramas were the attractions in the programme.—RSS
GPO collects revenue
SUNSARI: The district post office, Sunsari has collected a revenue of Rs 3,542,319 from different postal services till April of the current fiscal year. According to the district post office, Sunsari, it collected Rs 3,424,085 through stamp-sale, Rs 44,290 through post box charge, Rs 4,464 from commission on money order and Rs 69,480 from international express mail service. — RSS
Consumers deprived
RAMECHHAP: Majority of consumers in Ramechhap district have been deprived of the subsidised kerosene due to the carelessness on the part of local dealers and lack of interest of the local bodies. The consumers have complained that the dealers were distributing kerosene in less quantity than the fixed quota and also at haphazard prices. The government had decided to provide the subsidised kerosene at Rs 22 per litre. — RSS
