Tea plantation increases
Kathmandu: The area under tea plantation by small farmers has increased to 12,643 hectares during the year 2002-03, Nepal Tea Development Corporation (NTDC) and private sector informed. According to National Tea and Coffee Development Board (NTCDB), "In fiscal year 2001-02, the area under tea plantation was only 12,346 hectares.—HNS

The new website www.tigermountain.com is a tourist guide to Nepal, states a company statement issued here today. FNCCI urges peace
KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has stated that if the conflict and agitation are prolonged, the country will have to face additional crisis. In a press statement issued here today, FNCCI has urged formulation of a broad-based government. A meeting of FNCCI executive committee participated by members from various parts of the country has reaffirmed its commitment to constitutional monarchy and multi-party democracy system. — HNS
More power generation
ANBUKHAIRENI: Marsyangdi Hydro Power project is producing more than its capacity of electricity. The hydro power, which has the capacity of generating 69 megawatt, has generated 72 megawatts of electricity. The hydro power has produced 24 megawatt each from the three units, according to the Marsyangdi hydro power. — RSS
