Qatar seeks PR

KATHMANDU: Qatar, a major destination of Gulf-bound Nepali blue-collar jobseekers, has made police report (PR) compulsory for Nepali workers, said the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE). Issuing a press statement, DoFE has directed all migrant workers to get their police report and keep it with them when entering Qatar. An English language copy of the police report is needed for Nepalis going to Qatar, it said. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Microsoft has unveiled new smartphones based on its Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and with access to the new Windows Marketplace for mobile applications. The new OS and phones include an enhanced Windows Live service, expanded Microsoft Office and synchronisation functions and a new Internet Explorer mobile browser with Adobe Flash Lite. The company also unveiled Windows phone custom theme creator, where customers can create personalized themes for their Windows phone by choosing a colour and design. The My Phone service for backing up information on Windows Mobile 6.0, 6.1 or 6.5 phones is also available for the handsets. The premium service package is available free until the end of November and after that costs $4.99 per week. — Agencies
