New SDBL branch

KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Development Bank Ltd (SDBL) has opened its seventh branch office at Khairani in Butwal of Rupandehi district. According to a press statement, the bank is planning to establish another branch at Lumbini within Poush-end. It also bank aims to upgrade itself by enlarging its paid-up capital to Rs 640 million. — HNS

Sugar mills reopen

PARASI: All sugar mills in Nawalparasi district have resumed operations nearly a month after the sugarcane harvesting season began. Sunawal-based Nepal’s largest sugar mill Lumbini Sugar Mill, also began operations from Tuesday. Indra Sugar and Agro Industries at Gangapur and Bagmati Sugar Mill in Kudia had already come into operation. The mills’ reopening weas delayed due to agitation by workers and farmers. — RSS
