CCML opens
KATHMANDU: Civil Capital Market Ltd (CCML), a subsidiary of Civil Group, started its service on Wednesday. Dr Shoorbir Poudyal, chairman of Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) inaugurated the CCML office. CCML said it will work in merchant banking to facilitate the capital market. The company has authorized capital Rs 100 million and paid up capital Rs 70 million with Rs 49 million from promoters. It will call initial public offering (IPO) of Rs 21 million soon. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Star International Pvt Ltd on Monday launched its Elemax brand generator in the market. According to a company statement, Sawafuji Electric Company will be authorised dealer of Elemax generator. The silent-type generator is available from 1KVA to 25 KVA. — HNS
Customs office closed
GORKHA: The customs point at Larke in Sirdibas VDC of Gorkha, closed 12 years ago due to security reasons, is yet to reopen. Herbs like yarshagumba, panchaunle, neeramasi and jatamansi as well as tiger pelts are being smuggled to China. Though the office is closed, its staffers are getting their salaries in Kathmandu. They come once or twice a year to mark their attendance at the district administration office. CDO Jeevan Prasad Oli said Mukhiya Narayan Kaji Thapa and peon Buddhi Bahadur Magar had last come to the DAO in Falgun. He said he did not know where and how they draw their salaries. — RSS
