Meat export

ITAHARI: Test processing of fresh meat for export to other countries has begun here in the eastern region. Among the three industries established for meat export, Sangrila International Food Pvt Ltd located in Duhabi has started test processing meat. Around 25 he-buffaloes are slaughtered in its abattoir in a day. According to the industry, the meat processed through special technology is being exported to China at Rs 170 per kg. The industry plans to begin the processing of chicken meat, pork and fish and supply 200 metric tonnes fresh meat to other countries.

PARBAT: Dalit people are improving their financial condition after dalit women received skill-oriented training in Arthar of Parbat district. Earlier, the dalit women used to toil in their neighbours’ houses. They have begun to send their children for studies after they increased their income source. Now they can manage money for school fee and educational materials after they learnt to knit bags and other items. Sewa Nepal, Parbat, trained 13 dalit women to knit woollen bags.Now they earn Rs 100 each a day.
