Bike exchange offer

KATHMANDU: Morang Auto Works, the sole authorized distributor of Yamaha Motorcycles in Nepal, is organising the Yamaha Super Exchange Camp from May 25 to 28 in the Yamaha showroom at Tripureshwor. The exchange camp will provide facilities of spot finance and spot exchange from reputed finance companies and reconditioning houses, respectively. The company is also providing sure-shot scratch card awards between Rs 5,000 to Rs100,000 on the purchase of ALBA ES and G5 ES motorcycles. The paragliding scheme is also available on the purchase of Gladiator motorcycle through Kathmandu Paragliding & Hang Gliding Pvt Ltd. A straight discount of Rs 10,000 will be available on both cash and finance purchase of Crux, Gladiator Black, Alba Normal, and G5 Normal as well as Rs 5,000 on FZ-16 motorcycle. — HNS


Mushroom farming

MYAGDI: Farmers in Myagdi district are growing mushrooms commercially. Mushroom production has started in Singha, Arthunge, Pulachaur, Takam VDCs as an experiment. The district agriculture office’s Horticulture Officer Bed Prasad Poudel said the programme succeeded with the production of 400 plants. Farmers are now turning towards commercial production of mushrooms after the successful experiment. Some 30 farmers have started growing mushrooms commercially with improved species. Import of mushroom in the district has gone down after production began at home. — RSS


Profitable potato

CHAUTARA: Farmers in Sindhupalchowk have raked in over Rs 1.176 billion from the sale of potato that they cultivated in the winter and rainy seasons. The district agriculture development office said 82,600 tonnes of potato were produced from 4,009 hectares of land. DAO extension officer Kul Prasad Subedi said the district has a potato productivity of 16.6 tonmes per hectare. He said potato farmers earn up to Rs 240,000 from each hectare of land. Kufri sindure, Dejire kadil, Janak red and Khumal rato are the most common varieties of potato grown in the district. — RSS
