PDBL to go public

KATHMANDU: Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) has given permission to Pashupati Development Bank Ltd (PDBL), Banepa, to float its 8,00,000-unit Initial Public Offering (IPO) worth Rs 100 per unit face value. The bank has appointed NIDC Capital Markets and Nepal Finance Ltd as its issue and sales managers. — HNS

E-com workshop

KATHMANDU: A two-day workshop on the use of e-commerce for handicrafts manufacturers and exporters started here on Sunday. The workshop organised jointly by Federation of Nepalese Handicraft Association (FNHA) and Export Council of Nepal (ECON) is aimed at the export of handicrafts items via e-commerce. It aims to inform participants about website development, use and importance of e-commerce, market identification, modes of distribution, exporting goods and receiving payments. Eighteen handicraft exporters are attending the workshop. — HNS

Dabur Nepal award

KATHMANDU: Dabur Nepal Ltd on Saturday conducted a lucky draw for Dabur Peaks Wholesale programme for December-May 2007-2008. Rameshwor Lal Agrawal, owner of Durga Stores, Birtamode (coupon no. 11156), won the draw and will get an all-expenses paid trip for two to Singapore. China trade deficit

BEIJING: China registered a $7.57 billion trade deficit in agricultural products during the first five months of 2008, up by more than 14-fold over the same period last year. China imported $23.75 billion of agricultural products in that period, up by 59 per cent over last year. The

nation exported $16.18 billion of agricultural products during the period, up by 12 per cent over the first five months of 2007. — AFP
