NIC in Battisputali

KATHMANDU: NIC Bank opened its 16th branch at Battisputali on Monday. This is the Bank’s fifth branch in Kathmandu valley after New Road, Kamaladi, Pulchowk and Bhaktapur. All branches of NIC Bank are connected via V-Sat/Optical fibre network enabling real-time online connectivity, states a press release. — HNS

NMA ad hoc panel

KATHMANDU: Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has postponed its election and formed an ad hoc committee to address demands of workers, mountaineers and Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN). The 23-member panel has representatives of mountaineers, mountaineering workers’ unions, NMA, TAAN, mountain guides and instructors, Nepal Mountaineering Federation and ex-officio members of the now defunct executive committee. The panel will form a statute amendment draft committee to recommend amendments in the NMA statute. — HNS

Bajaj exchange fair

KATHMANDU: The fifth edition of Bajaj Maha X-change Mela at Bhrikuti Mandap from July 9 to 12 will have more than 20 companies participating in it. The Mela will help customers get the best value for their old motorcycles. All brands of motorcycles can be exchanged for Bajaj Motorcycles. Customers can also get on-the-spot finance. NCTA worry at DTH

KATHMANDU: Nepal Cable Television Association (NCTA) has voiced concern over illegal import of Direct-To-Home (DTH) system. Its 10th annual general meeting on Sunday also decided that member companies would not renew their registration unless the government reduces renewal fee to 10 per cent from the existing 110 per cent, give royalty rebate for the year 2007-2008 and reduce royalty fee to two per cent from four per cent for the year 2008-2009. — HNS
