GBL-Exchange tie-up

KATHMANDU: Global Bank Ltd (GBL) has launched Global Remit Service in collaboration with the Qatar-based trust Exchange Company, targeting Nepali workers in Qatar. The remit service will provide opportunities to customers to get money through more than 300 agents and branch offices of Global Bank across the country. Exchange has been under the management of State Bank of India and has branches in four major cities of Qatar including capital city Doha. Global Bank has also launched a separate ‘Remitters’ super savings Account’. The bank has already established collaborations with more than a dozen exchanges in six countries besides taking care of remittance transactions from the UAE and Malaysia. — HNS


Save rhino bid

KATHMANDU: Ace Development Bank Ltd chief executive officer Siddhant Raj Pandey on Friday handed over a cheque of Rs 1 million to Sarita Gyawali, project manager of the central zoo. Ace is funding for a rhino habitat centre at the national zoo. “The one-horned rhino is an endangered species and indigenious to South Asia,” read a statement by Ace that has the one-horned rhino as its official mascot. — HNS
