TIMS in offing

KATHMANDU: Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) is being introduced to maintain records of international trekkers and to discourage illegal activities. At a press meet here on Sunday, it was informed that the system would be in effect from January 1 in an initiatives of Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) with the assistance of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). The trekkers going on trekking individually or in group could get certificate of TIMS card from TAAN member firms, NTB or TAAN central office. It would help prevent unauthorised tourism business and ease carrying out rescue in emergency, enhance

HTSC posts profit

KATHMANDU: The sixth annual general general meeting of Hajurko Triveni Saving and Credit Co-operative (HTSC) has declared Rs 41,505 profit for the last fiscal year. “It has 409 members,” states a press release. It has also been awarding scholarships to poor and needy children from last year. — HNS

Thimi passes budget

MADHYAPUR: The 13th municipal council meeting of the Madhyapur Thimi municipality has approved a budget of Rs 70 million for the current fiscal 2007-08. The budget is an increase by 36.1 per cent from the last year, executive officer of the municipality Govinda Singh Bhandari said. — RSS
